Global Warming Term Paper

Added April 15, 2009 to Term Paper Examples category

Global temperatures on the EarthТs surface have increased by 1.1 degrees Fahrenheit during the last century, faster than any time in the last 1000 years (Rauber 41). Consequently, the 1990s was the warmest decade in the last 1000 years (”Global Warming”). As humans emit fossil fuels, greenhouse gasses slowly warm the Earth’s atmosphere (”EPA Global”). This gradual process is known as global warming. As glaciers begin to melt, sea levels rise and coastal areas in Florida may suffer immense losses (”Beach Erosion”). FloridaТs tourist economy may also suffer a tremendous loss, as well as agriculture (”Florida Scientists”). With a warmer atmosphere, disease will spread quicker and human health will be threatened throughout the state (”Global Warming”). Serious action needs to be taken in order to slow the process of global warming.

Global Warming is an increase in the temperature of the Earth due to the use of fossil fuels and industrial processes that build up to the emission of greenhouse gasses, mostly carbon dioxide and methane (”Global Warming Threatens”). (read full text…)

History Term Paper

Added April 8, 2009 to Sample Term Papers category

History is a broad subject. In fact, it takes up so much time, since the beginning of humanity until the present. Defined in Longman’s Dictionary, history is ‘all things that happened in the past, especially in the political, social, or economic development of a nation’. History explains why are things the way they are today, as history adds specific events, inventions or ideas that make a transformation, major or minor. History is almost unlimited, but what it contributes to our present will never be forgotten once we truly know why the study of history is significant.

The foundation, or base of history, is a very long but significant time. History is built from one hundred thousand years, when the first humans, our ancestors, were populating Africa, Asia and Europe. During these times, history itself is a ‘blurred, almost invisible mist’. However, as time goes on, historians try to ‘penetrate the mist’ for information, or simply finding artifacts or writings from the past to help us with our knowledge of history. (read full text…)

Term Paper on Human Rights

Added April 6, 2009 to Term Paper Examples category

Having a right means that others have an obligation to respect that right. It is a privilege that is attained by being exactly what the right pertains to or whom the right is offered to. For example, an “artist’s” rights are for the artist alone, as long as the person is an artist he has those rights, which others have to take into account and comply with fully. Therefore, human rights, refers to rights of anyone who fits under the category of humans. Human rights, has no other distinction except for being human, so there is an equal amount of rights for everyone that is “human”. If there are more rights offered for one person than the other whereas both are under the category of “humans” it is going beyond just human rights and entering a more specific realm of rights. To begin with, rights are not a written code or law, however the laws itself is directly influenced by the rights of certain persons, the law does not directly influence human rights, in terms of existence of new rights. Term Paper in English

Added April 2, 2009 to Sample Term Papers category

There seems to be a lot talk these days about English Only Laws. English Only laws vary. Some states simply declare English as the official language of the state. Other state and local edicts limit or prohibit government’s use of non-English language assistance and services. Some restrict bilingual education programs, prohibit multilingual ballots, or forbid non-English government services such services as courtroom translation or multilingual emergency police lines.

So far sixteen States have adopted English only laws. Some versions of the English Language Amendment would void almost all state and federal laws that require the government to provide services in languages other than English. The services affected would include health, education and social welfare services, job training, translation assistance to crime victims and witnesses in court and administrative proceedings; voting assistance and ballots, drivers’ licensing exams, and AIDS prevention education.

Term Paper on Information

Added April 1, 2009 to Term Paper Examples category

The creative use of Information Technology for development remains one of the key challenges in the digital age. While development assistance has always been provided with sustainability in mind, all too often technology has lagged behind in this effort. The goal to realistically and practically transfer technology from north to south remains elusive. The Johannesburg Summit offers a useful opportunity for reflection and hopefully will generate some innovative thinking on the use of technology for achieving sustainability. The Case for Partnerships The PrepComs leading up to the summit have included some healthy debates on a wide range of economic, social and environmental issues, with the underlying agenda of poverty alleviation and the need for global consensus and action. The reaffirmation in Bali to encourage business and industry to showcase sustainable development partnerships is a golden opportunity for the private sector to do concrete projects on the ground to bridge the north-south divide.
